Arizona statutes define robbery as taking another’s property by using or by threatening the use of force (Ariz. Rev. Stat. §13-1902). There are several types of robbery charges: aggravated robbery (robbery by more than one person), armed robbery (robbery with a real, implied or simulated weapon) and standard robbery. These are all felonies and conviction on any of these charges can mean prison time for a minimum of one year up to a maximum of several decades, depending on the defendant’s record and the nature of the robbery.
